Noble and Naughty

Have you ever noticed that when you listen to a recording of your own voice, that it sounds nothing like you at all? I keep having that experience--who's that weenie-sounding geek stealing my lines? I'll moidalise 'im!
I had just got out of the fabulous Rock 101 studios in downtown Vancouver when I heard my first on-air promo go out. I guess not everyone can sound like James Earl Jones. I should be grateful I didn't squeak like a tromped Canary. Here's a copy of one of the spots: Rock 101 Spot
We're doing a series of spots talking about winemaking and Winexpert for the Rock 101 Whine Line, which we're sponsoring for the month of October. My pal Brad from Valley Estates in North Vancouver was there too, along with Dean, Hatch and 101's lovely Deb Groen, who was there to make us wipe our feet and figure out which end of the mike to talk into. Brad and I talked up the fun of making your own wine, the on-premise process, and what happens 'When Yeast Attacks'. Radio is a fun process, and working with pros is a treat--we got a bunch done in less than half an hour, and although I'm pretty sure my mike was puffing out helium to make me sound addled and squeaky, it all wound up sounding pretty cool.
Wine and radio--two great tastes that go great together.
