Stomping Grounds

Dr. Johnson knew whereof he spoke. Where does a wine guy go to un-wined? I generally don't hang out much in bars. My life is too busy for extended relaxation in dens of iniquity (more's the pity) but once or twice a week I have a blank half-hour in my schedule between my way home from the office and picking up my wife from work. And right on my route home? Central City Brewing.
I've followed the brewer, Gary Lohin, around for years. He used to be brewmaster at Sailor Hagars in North Vancouver until they gave up brewing their own, but their loss is Central City's gain. Gary has a quality I love in a brewer: he really, really likes beer. And he's not afraid of the hops. I'm a bitter man in many ways, and Gary understands the needs of a serious lupomaniac.
Central City counts as my 'local', I guess. It's a stiff 20 minute drive from my house, so I usually only have one pint here (can't be driving with a head full o' intoxication!), but it's almost always my favorite pint of the week.
And heck, I'm sitting in CC right now, leeching off their free internet. Does this count as work-hours?
