Rough Cuts

Bring me a longer lens, and a shaggier toupee . . .
Just got back from Maverick Studios and a viewing of the first cut of our new home winemaking video, and I'm powerfully impressed. It's one thing to be simply pleased because I didn't drastically embarrass myself in front of the camera, but it's entirely another to see this for the first time and realise that it's not just going to be okay, it's going to be great!
While it can't be all things to all people, I'm really happy with what this video will be able to do: it's going to show each step of the winemaking process in a clear and concise way, with an explanation of each technique and procedure. We'll be stuffing it in every new equipment kit, loading it up on youtube, and forcing copies on everyone who holds still too long in our presence.
There's still more work to do: for my part I've got a couple of voice-over bits to re-do, and we need two more very minor shots to illustrate how some things are used. However, it's looking pretty good, and I can thank Arnie and Julie, the Maverick team and our actors for a job well done. Stay tuned for links and production stills.
Then we've got bonus features, the 'making of' featurette, bobblehead dolls, promotional tie-ins, a Burger Thing wine glass giveaway . . .
