Don't Mention the Wine

Waiter, there's a stupe on the fly!
From the 'What the . . . ?' department of Decanter Magazine, German wine takes top international trophy for Pinot Noir.
According to the September 1 Decanter article
The £40 wine, which judges described as 'seductive' and found so accomplished they thought they were in Burgundy, beat all comers to be judged the best Pinot in the competition.
Well you could knock me over with the weather! Germany actually produces a vast volume of rotwein, but they drink most of it--a good thing because it's pretty thin and pale compared to the fatter, heavier styles prevalent around the world. But this one kicked butt on New Zealand, France, and Chile. And they say that global climate change is a myth!
