Always yakking, while the poor folks wait patiently to taste wine.
We had a great night out in Sidney, with a Limited Edition tasting for customers of Peninsula U-Brew Winery. Stan and Marueen went all out, and the venue was great, the food was spectacular (they had a great caterer working with them) and the crowd was lively and asked some great questions. Good job, everybody!
Tonight I'm still in Victoria, giving a lecture in about an hour and a half for The Winemaker. I'm hoping this black drizzle out here doesn't keep people away! I'm hopeful that the promise of some great wine will keep 'em coming.
After the tasting I've got a mad dash to Nanaimo--it's about a 90 minute drive in good weather/daylight, but will be a bit longer tonight. I'd like to catch a ferry from Swartz bay, but the BC Ferry corporation decided that they didn't want to get their ferries all wet, so stopped running them after 9 pm, to give them a chance to dry out. So it's Nanaimo and a midnight ferry (they schedule a late one for heavy truck traffic) to get back home--whee! Put my dinner in the oven, honey, I'll see you at 2 am.
Maybe I'll just wait till breakfast . . .
