Dionysisus, aka Bacchus. For a god normally characterised as 'womanly', this statue is
really macho . . . it is for a beer company, so maybe they know their audience
Brumalia is a Roman feast of Bacchus, celebrated for thirty days starting November 24th. Legend has it was instituted by Romulus, who entertained the Senate during this time. During feasts, prophetic indications were put forth for the prospects of the remaining part of the winter. Thirty days of holiday! A fellow could get a lot of Bacchanalia done in that time.

Creative Connoisseur
So it's a pretty auspicious day to be doing another Limited Edition event. I'm in Edmonton, and tonight I'll be giving a lecture and tasting for Creative Connoisseur. 225 tickets went out, and there's no football on the telly tonight, so we should get a good turnout. I'm looking forward to seeing Al and Neil and the rest of the gang and meeting some of their customers. It's been at least four years since I dropped in, so there should be some good questions tonight.
